Former Marshall MK Lions stalwart, Tony Windless is in the Leicester Riders team facing the Lions this afternoon.
Riders boss, Rob Paternostro, said he has been pleased with the way his side have been preparing for a tough schedule recently, which has led to them winning four of their last six games, with five wins in the last six home games. He said: 'I like the way we are competing. It all starts in practice, where we have been as competitive as you can be over the last month or so. We have the amount of depth that is very beneficial to us in practice, guys are pushing each other day in and day out on the practice floor which is always good for your club.' He continued: 'I feel like we are getting contributions from all nine players on a consistent basis and have been able to play many different combinations throughout the forty minutes.'
Combined with the other factors, Paternostro sees Sunday's test against the Lions as incredibly tough, purely down to the fact that it is an away game in the BBL. He explained: 'Last time we played Milton Keynes it was a hard nosed, tough basketball game. They have a lot of weapons that can hurt you at any time. Both teams played very hard and I'm sure it will be a good game to watch on Sunday.' He added: 'It is a road game and this season in the BBL, road wins have been very difficult to get.'
The Lions got back to winning ways on Friday despite a catalogue of injuries. Lions boss, Vince Macaulay was eagerly loking forward to the encounter. "It's always fun playing the Riders, it's great to see Tony and we are always confident going into those games. They have been excellent this season and Rob has been doing a terrific job.
There are still tickets available for the 5.00pm tip.
